What To Expect

Headshots in Uniforms

Fall Portraits are headshots for students and staff on a grey backdrop! The look is clean and modern and focuses on your child and not the background.

All Frank Black Middle School students in all grades will be photographed in uniform. Please make sure your student is well-groomed and camera-ready!

Hair & Grooming

We make it a point to help clean faces and fine-tune hair before we take your child's picture (like smoothing flyaways, fixing headbands, etc.). Please ask your child to bring any hair grooming items they might need for final touches before they're in front of our camera.

For long-haired girls, we suggest wearing hair down, since ponytails and buns tend to get messy throughout the day. Hair bows should be small so as not to distract from the face. And don't forget to ask your kids to brush their teeth!

Make Ups and Retakes

At Lot Five Studios, your satisfaction is always our goal. If your child missed their picture day, or you'd like them to get a retake for any reason, please sign up for Retake Day on January 22, 2027. Please send us a retake request by clicking the button below. This will ensure that your child will get pulled from class, and it will also let us know how we can do better and improve your Yearbook photo.

NOTE: NEW and ABSENT students will be pulled automatically--please do not sign up for retakes if your child is new or was absent.

Online Proofing

About 3 weeks after Picture Day, your child's Fall Portraits will be uploaded to our website in a password-protected gallery for viewing and ordering.

Proofing information will be sent via email or through the school, but our Newsletter Subscribers will get notified first!

How It Works

Portrait Days

We photograph students, faculty, and staff during Fall Picture Days: September 29 and 30 – Fall Picture Days Make-ups will be held on December 3. If you're photographed again, your new images will be added to your existing gallery within 3 weeks. Retake orders may require additional shipping fees.

Gallery Access

Please allow 3–4 weeks for us to process and upload your images. Once your gallery is ready, the school will send students and parents everything they need to access their photos, including gallery links, passcodes, and ordering instructions. Newsletter subscribers hear about new galleries and updates first (one of the perks!)

Ordering Online

Ordering online is easy! Be sure to watch for the order deadline to qualify for free school delivery and our full selection of packages and products. After the deadline, online ordering remains available, but some packages may no longer be offered, shipping fees may apply, and orders are typically delivered within 4 weeks.

More Than School Pictures

Looking for family portraits, senior photos, sports portraits, or professional headshots? Subscribe to our newsletter or book a session! We offer modern, convenient photography sessions during our Open Studio Days at our Oak Forest studio. Be One of Our Featured Students We love featuring smiling students in our school-specific marketing materials! If you'd like to be considered, simply review the photo release information before checking out. Students under 18 should have a parent or guardian's permission. If you prefer not to have your image used, you can opt out there as well. We never include students' names or other identifying information—just great photos.
