The information on this page applies to Full Senior Appointments only, so please take care to select that appointment type when booking.

There are no products or files included with your session. All products must be purchased, there are no complimentary or free items available.

No purchase is required, your yearbook selection will be sent to the school on your behalf for use in the yearbook.

You will need one outfit to be photographed in for part of your senior portrait session. Select something you are comfortable wearing, and feel confident and relaxed in.

Bring your parents! These portraits are for them, too!

We prefer to have parents involved in the proofing and ordering process to ensure that your order isn't delayed due to missing input from the appropriate parties, or lack of payment method.

Be You

From shirt and tie, fancy suits, fashionable outfits, to formal ball gowns, we have seen it all. Please know that this is a special portrait session to celebrate you, so please wear something nice!

Wear something that is comfortable, reflects your personal style, and makes you feel confident and relaxed. Your outfit doesn't have to be brand new, but since graduation is a big milestone, we recommend wearing something nicer than typical everyday wear. 

Since we run a busy, back-to-back schedule, there is not enough time for a wardrobe change, so please do not bring additional clothing to change into. If you are unsure of what to wear BEFORE your session, you can bring your outfits, and our photographer will advise you of what will look best in your images.

What NOT to Wear

Avoid shorts and t-shirts, sweatpants and ponytails, and overly casual outfits, please. The Seniors who come in like this get photographed and regret their outfit decisions. We work with many schools, so we do not have extra appointment space to do a re-shoot for you in a different outfit and therefore, you may have to wait a long time to book a retake session. Please plan accordingly!

Check to make sure that your outfit fits well, and doesn't let any undergarment show unnecessarily through the fabric. 

Try to avoid outfits with large logos and text, as they distract from the true subject of the image. 

Shirt & Tie?

You are welcome to bring your own collared shirt to wear under the graduation gown. Please make sure it is clean and pressed, and able to button up to the top button around your neck.

You may bring your own tie, as well, but it is not required--we have ties to choose from in the studio for your use.

All the Little Details

Shoes may be photographed in the standing poses, but may be cropped out of final images if you do not want them shown.

For Seniors not wearing a collar and tie under their gown, we recommend shirts and blouses with a v-neck or a neckline that you don't mind showing above the gown's neckline.

We DO photograph your hands in many of the poses. Please be sure to have clean, manicured nails (no chipped nail polish, please), and edit your jewelry as it will be part of your photos. We cannot edit missing fingernails, chipped nail polish, or dirty hands, so please be ready. 

Hair and Makeup should be complete, retouched, and ready to be photographed upon your appointment. Please arrive ready at least 10 minutes before your appointment time. 

Nope! Our studio has special photography caps and gowns for your use in the studio, and any additional regalia that your school has provided for their commencement attire.

We have collars and ties for seniors that would like to wear them in their cap and gown photos. If you would like to bring your own tie and collar to wear under the gown, you may bring a clean, pressed collared dress shirt, but it is not required. 

Arrive at your appointment dressed in the outfit you are being photographed in. There is not time during your appointment for you to change clothes, so please plan accordingly.

Upon arrival, you are photographed in the outfit you wear to your session, standing and seated. Photographers work with you on posing, and getting natural expressions and smiles.

Next, we dress you in our cap and gown and photograph you in three graduation poses. We have collars and ties for seniors who wish to wear them under the gowns.

After you are photographed, your images are curated for your meeting with a proofing specialist. You and your party will be escorted to our proofing room to complete your appointment.

PLEASE ensure you have enough time in your day to stay for viewing your proofs. Even if you do not plan on making a purchase, we do need you to select your yearbook photo so that we may send it to the school in a timely manner.

At this time, only the students being photographed and Lot Five Studios staff are permitted in the camera room during sessions.  If we have any questions that need parent input, we are happy to have them lean in, but ask that they remain in the studio hallway otherwise.

You're not alone! Fortunately, we have years of experience fitting seniors in caps for photos, and we will work with you to fit your graduation cap appropriately.

We recommend that seniors AVOID top-knot and high ponytail styles, as they will affect the way the cap will be seated on the head.

We recommend longer hair be styled down and shorter layers styled away from the face to prevent unwanted shadows. Bangs that normally cover or obscure the eyes don't photograph as well as layers that are styled above or away from the eyes.

Hairstyles shorter than ear length will most likely be hidden by the fit of the cap.

For seniors who normally wear their hair in a patka, we recommend wearing or bringing a turban or head wrap of a more formal nature for the cap and gown photos.

Part of your proofing session, which immediately follows your portrait sitting, is to select your yearbook pose for your school. A proofing specialist will show you all your yearbook pose selections and assist you in selecting and documenting which image will be provided to the school for your yearbook. Additionally, we notate the senior's preferred name to be provided with their image, and double-check spelling.

Schools receive one yearbook pose, and alternate poses cannot be submitted to the school in its place.

After photographing in the camera room, your Senior Portrait appointment concludes with a proofing session where Senior images will be viewed immediately following the shoot.

During this proofing session, you will choose the yearbook pose as well as your other favorites. A proofing specialist will guide you through the selection process and will compile your Senior's portrait order, and Mom's favorite keepsakes. Please allow up to 45 minutes for proofing and ordering. 

Orders not placed at the appointment or by the deadline will not be submitted with the bulk order, therefore delivery before graduation is not guaranteed, so please make sure all ordering parties accompany your senior so that your Senior products arrive when you need them!

Digital picture files will be emailed to all email addresses provided to the proofing specialist at your ordering session.  A secure Dropbox folder will be shared with your email addresses to prevent unauthorized access and distribution of your digital files. A print release for your files can be provided upon request. No refunds or exchanges are available for digital files.

All physical products ordered will be delivered to your school for pickup 4-6 weeks after your full payment.
